Note on Summer Shipping:
This salve is made using a traditional Roma recipe, which means that it is intentionally crafted (following the original recipe) without stabilizers like beeswax. Because of this, it can melt easily in warm weather or during transit. If melting occurs, the salve may change consistency and become chunky or leak slightly from the sample container. Just pop it into the fridge, then, when cool, stir it up! While this doesn’t affect its herbal properties, it does change the texture. However, once you rub a little between your hands, it will melt beautifully and work just as intended. Please be aware of this natural behavior when ordering during warmer months.

We are excited to be offering this historical concoction. This came from a wonderful compilation of traditional and ancient recipes and practices used by the Roma peoples, also referred to historically by the name we all know. We don’t have an exact date on this but suffice to say that it is an old but well-documented salve that was used by various Roma peoples. The manuscript this recipe came from was titled “A Collection of old and ancient g ______”. This recipe didn’t have a name, but they described what it was traditionally used for, so we had to give it a name. While we are aware that some take offense to the term, we hope this name gives insight into the Roma people’s culture and shows the world their fantastic herbal knowledge.
